How it’s used (basic steps)

Remove spark plug from the cylinder you wish to test.

Attach the kit’s adapter into the spark plug hole.

Supply compressed air (per the kit’s specification) into the cylinder via the kit.

Observe the gauge(s) — note how much pressure remains or how much leakage occurs.

Compare results among cylinders (one good cylinder vs suspect ones) to identify abnormal leakage. If a cylinder leaks significantly more, you may suspect ring wear, valve issues, gasket/head crack, etc.

Also listen/observe where air is escaping (into the crankcase = rings, into intake/exhaust manifold = valves, externally = head gasket/cylinder wall)
